Sheikhul Hadith Hadhrat Mawlana Fazlehaq Wadee Sahib is the founder of Khanqah (Blackburn), Jamea al-Kauthar (Lancaster), Darul Uloom Preston and Madni Masjid (Accrington). May Allah bless our respected teacher and grant him a long, blessed life. Ameen.
Master of both Islamic and worldly sciences, Hadhrat Mawlana Fazlehaq Ismaeel Wadee Sahib (Hafizahullah), was born in 1960 on the Island of Madagascar. As a child, Hadhrat Sahib was very fortunate to have his esteemed father, Qutub-e-Bartaniyyah Hadhrat Mawlana Ismaeel Wadee Sahib (Rahimahullah) who ensured that his Tarbiyyah (upbringing) was done in best way he possibly could have i.e. the way the Holy Quran and Sunnah has taught us. Hadhrat Sahib migrated to England at the age of fifteen (15), in 1975.
Sheikh has multiple siblings, some of them are well-renowned Ulama such as Hadhrat Mufti Tahir Wadee (Sufi) Sahib (Hafizahullah) and Hadhrat Sheikh Qaasim Wadee Sahib (Hafizahullah).
At the age of 15 he enrolled into Hifdh under the tutelage of Hafidh Ghulam (Rahimahullah) & Hadhrat Qari Ismail Samni (Rahimahullah) becoming a Hafidh of the Holy Quran within 15 months. He then went on to become an Aalim (Scholar) of Deen in Darul Uloom Bury under the supervision of Hadhrat Mawlānā Yusuf Motala Sahib RA & Hadhrat Sheikh Mawlana Islaamul Haq Sahib (Rahimahullah).
He was then sent by Hadhrat to repeat his Dawra e Hadith in Saharanpur under the supervision and instruction of the late Muhaddith ul-Asr Hadhrat Sheikh Mawlana Yunus Jaunpuri (Rahimahullah).
He has also read the famous Hadith compilation commonly known as ‘Musalsal bil Awwaliya’ from the esteemed late Sheikh, Hadhrat Sheikh Zakariya Kandhalwi (Rahimahullah), Hadhrat Sheikh Yunus Jaunpuri (Rahimahullah), Hadhrat Mawlana Islaamul Haq (Rahimahullah), Qutub-e-Bartaniyah Hadhrat Mawlana Ismaeel Wadee Sahib (Rahimahullah) & Hadhrat Sheikh Abdullah an-Nakhibi (Yemen) Sahib (Rahimahullah).
Hadhrat Sahib is also a master of many languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Gujrati, English and French.
Hadhrat Mawlānā Fazlehaq Wadee Sahib has gained ijaazah and Khilaafah in all four of the main silsilas; Chistiyya, Naqshbandiyya, Qadriya & Soharwardiya.
He has gained Khilaafat from three renowned Mashaayikh;
• His Father & Sheikhul Awwal, Qutub-e-Bartaniyah Hadhrat Mawlana Ismaeel Wadee (Rahimahullah Ta’ala).
• His teacher & Sheikh uth-Thani, Muhaddith ul-Asr Hadhrat Mawlana Yunus Jaunpuri (Rahimahullah Ta’ala).
• His teacher, Hadhrat Mawlana Hashim Patel Sahib (Hafizahullah).
To date the Khidmat that Hadhrat Sahib has strived in, for the sake of Allah Ta’ala, is immense. Allah Taa’la has enabled him to be the cause of the establishment of many institutions through his students, as far away as Denmark, Germany, Panama, USA, Canada, Reunion, etc. as well as many local institutions run directly under his tutelage, which include:
• Jamea Al Kauthar [1996], for girls. To date hundreds of young women have benefitted from the establishment.
• Abrar Academy [2009], for boys and girls. To date the Darul Uloom has had many male graduates, all of whom have entered the Khidmat Of Deen directly after leaving. The Madrasah also runs evening Aalimah & Sanatayn classes for girls, from which numerous students have graduated.
• Darul Uloom Preston [2015], for boys. Darul Uloom Preston is a Darul Uloom that caters specifically for Post-16 students and boarders. It accommodates boys from around the world. (Both Darul Uloom and Abrar Academy are run by Hadhrat Mawlānā Sahib's son and Jaanasheen, Hadhrat Mufti Huzayfa Sahib Hafizahullah).
• Madani Masjid, Accrington.
• Taqwa Institute, Oldham.
• The Khanqah, Blackburn.
Hadhrat Sahib has taught the likes of Sheikh Mawlānā Saleem Dhorat Sahib, Sheikh Riyadh Ul Haq, Mufti Abdurrahman Mangera, Sheikh Ahmed Ali, Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam Al Kawthari, Mawlānā Hanif Dudhwala and many other luminaries.
Alhamdulillah, to date 528 students have graduated as Alimaat and 139 students have completed the Sanatayn course, from Jamea al-Kauthar and 7 male students have graduated as Ulama and 50 Huffadh from Darul Uloom Preston.
His Birth & Early Life
Sheikhul Mashaayikh Qutub-e-Bartaniyah Hadhrat Aqdas Mawlana Ismaeel Wadee Sahib (Rahimahullah) was born on 28th Jumada Al-Ula 1339AH/7th February 1921, in Lajpur, Gujarat, India. He started his elementary Islamic education at the age of 8, started memorising the Quran at 10, and finished in two years at the age of 12, in his home town.
His Education
In Shawwal 1353AH/January 1935, at the age of thirteen, he enrolled in the renowned institute Jamiah Islamiyyah in Dabhel, India, where he started his Ālimiyyah (islamic theology course) . This is where he completed his studies in Shaban 1364/July 1945, except for a year in between during which he studied in Jamiah Husayniyyah in Rander, India.
During his time in Dabhel, he was blessed to have great luminaries as his teachers. He studied the Sahih of Imam Al-Bukhari under Mufti Shafi Uthmani (Rahimahullah) and Mawlana Shams-al-Haqq Al-Afghani (Rahimahullah); At-Tirmidhi under Mawlana Zafar Ahmad At-Thanwi (Rahimahullah); and Mishkaat-al-Masabih and Jalalayn under Mawlana Badr-Ālam Mirthi (Rahimahullah). He then went on to further enhance his education at Darul Uloom Deoband, where he studied Ṣaḥiḥ-al-Bukhari again under Sheikhul Islam Mawlana Hussain Ahmad Madani (Rahimahullah). He then went to Lahore in Shaban - Ramadhan 1365AH/July 1946, studying Tafseer under Sheikh-at-Tafseer Mawlana Ahmad Ali Lahori (Rahimahullah).
His Service & Ibaadah (Worship)
After finishing his education, he returned to his hometown, Lajpur, and started as an Imam (religious leader) in his local masjid. He then travelled to Madagascar in 1952 and settled there, serving the Deen of Allah Taala for 21 years, until he arrived in the UK in 1973. He served as the Imam in Masjid Noorul Islam in Blackburn until he retired in 1988 due to weakness and old age. He also taught at Darul Uloom Bury from 1978-1988, without any remuneration.
Hadhrat spent his whole life in the Khidmat of Deen (servitude of Islam). He also taught Hadith and Fiqh for many yeras. Hadhrat used to complete, until the advanced age of eighty seven, at least one Quran per day, the majority whilst standing in Nafl Salaah (optional prayer).
His Bay'at (Pledge of Allegiance)
Hadhrat first took an oath of allegiance (Bay'at) with Hadhrat Madani, and after his demise became Bay'at with Hadhrat Murshid-e-Alam Hafidh Ghulam Habib Naqshbandi. he had Ijazah from his Sheikh as well as from Sheikhul Hadith Hadhrat Mawlana Abrar Ahmad Dhulyawi, who was the successor (Khalifah) of Qari Muhammad Tayyab Sahib (Rahimahullah) - the former principal of Darul Uloom Deoband.
His Return to His Creator
Hadhrat Mawlana Ismaeel Sahib breathed his last on Monday, the 6th of Muharram, coinciding with the 19th of November 2012. Alhamdulillah hundreds of people attended his Janazah (funeral) and testified to his piety. He was later buried in a cementry in Blackburn.
Hadhrat Sahib was a true asset to the Muslims of the United Kingdom and his death brings sadness to hundreds around the world.

His Birth
Muhaddithul-Asr Hadhrat Aqdas Mawlana Yunus Jaunpuri Sahib (Rahimahullah) was born in the village of Jaunpur, India, on the 2nd October 1937.
His Education
He studied in Madrassah Zia ul-Uloom under Mawlana Zia ul-Haque Sahib (Rahimahullah) and Mawlana Abdul Haleem (Rahimahullah) for a few years.
Hadhrat Sahib (Rahimahullah) then entered Madrasah Mazahirul Uloom (Saharanpur) where he studied Sahih al-Bukhari under Hadhrat Sheikhul Hadith Mawlana Zakariyya (Rahimahullah). He also studied under Mawlana Asadullah (Rahimahullah), Mawlana Ameer Ahmad (Rahimahullah) and Mufti Muzaffar Hussain (Rahimahullah).
His Khidmat (Service)
Hadhrat Mawlana Yunus Sahib (Rahimahullah) taught Sahih al-Bukhari for over fourty seven years at Madrasah Mazahirul Uloom (Saharanpur) and was one of the leading authorities of Hadith in his era. He known as the teacher of many renowned Ulama (Islamic scholars) such as, our respected teacher, Hadhrat Mawlana Fazlehaq Wadee Sahib (Hafizahullah) , Sheikhul Hadith Hadhrat Mawlana Yusuf Motala Sahib (Rahimahullah)
Hadhrat (Rahimahullah) took an oath of allegiance (bay'at) with Hadhrat Sheikh Zakariyya (Rahimahullah), and obtained Ijaazah (succession) from his Sheikh as well as from his Ustadh (teacher) Hadhrat Mawlana Asadullah Sahib (Rahimahullah), who was the principal and senior teacher of the Madrasah.
His Personal Life
The late Sheikh did not get married through out his life. There have been mentioned a number of reasons for this but the better being that Hadhrat Sahib did not find himself capable for marriage and thus stayed single. He felt discomfort and pain for not having any children.
We ask Allah Ta'ala to grant him all of the pleasures of paradise due to his sacrifices throughout his worldly life due to his love and fear of Allah Almighty.
His Return to His Creator
On the 11th of July 2017 in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh, India), unfortunately Hadhrat Sahib (Rahimahullah) left this humble abode and returned to his Creator. Thousands of believers attended Sheikh's Janazah (funeral). His passing was a means of sorrow for the Ummah and he left many of us orphaned (spiritually).
