Literally, the term 'Malfoozaat' (ملفوظات) means 'statements' or 'words'. Traditionally, the term is used when referring to the statements of the righteous Friends of Allah Ta'ala. Malfoozaat do not deal with particular subjects. Rather every aspect of a Muslim's life comes within the focus of Malfoozaat. 

The first points of reference for the believer are the Quran and the Sunnah (traditions) of, Our Master, Rasoolullah ﷺ. To understand the blessed life of Rasoolullah ﷺ it is essential for a believer to refer to the Honourable Sahabah (May Allah be pleased with them all) and the Righteous Ulama (May Allah elevate all of their ranks) as they are 'The inheritors of the Ambiyaa (May peace and blessings be upon them all)', as mentioned in the Hadith of Rasoolullah ﷺ.
